A Community Staple for Over 50 Years

Tom's Meat Market is a full-service grocery store with an excellent selection of produce, bakery, beer and wine. Its history began in 1973 when Tom Robinson bought and renamed Hales Market in Hastings, MI. Tom sold the business to his son Steve Robinson in 1976, who, with his wife Sara, began to create the store we have today, bringing in fresh meats and specialty meat products.

In 1999, Carl and Nicole Smith bought Steve out and ran the store together until his passing in 2014. Sadly, on Memorial Day weekend of the same year, the store had a terrible fire. It was a complete loss. With the encouragement and support of the community, Nicole rebuilt. On November 1st, 2014, Tom's doors were re-opened in Hastings. In 2022, we opened our Middleville, MI location. Nicole and her son Nick, along with their amazing staff, operate the stores today.

Stop in and say hello. We are all family here and look forward to serving you!
